WPHCA Welcomes Two New Staff Members

Cassandra Heller, Administrative Assistant

Cassandra will be providing general administrative support at WPHCA along with managing event registration and planning event and meeting logistics.

Prior to WPHCA, Cassandra worked for the Beaver Dam Unified School District as a Secretary and HR Assistant. She was an Administrative Assistant at Madison College for 4 years where in addition to her Administrative Assistant duties, she implemented and became the super user for SharePoint for the IT department! Prior to Madison College, she was a Clinical Assistant for a chiropractic clinic and a Medical Administrative Specialist Intern with UW Health.

Cass has been at WPHCA for 3 months and we feel lucky to have her amazing support and cheerful approach!

Barb Willms, Associate Director of Health Information & Technology

Barb Willms started earlier this month as WPHCA’s new Associate Director of Health Information and Technology. Ms. Willms brings over 14-years of quality improvement, health information technology (HIT), data analytics and reporting experience using eCW and Epic EHR platforms.

Prior to joining WPHCA, Ms. Willms served as a clinical informatics specialist from 2022-2024 at Vernon Memorial Healthcare (VMH), where she provided Epic support and training to multi-disciplinary teams at rural primary care and specialty clinics. She has Epic certification in Cadence, Clinical Informatics, and Notecraft for Clinical Content Builders. Prior to VMH, she served in several roles at Scenic Bluffs Community Health Center, including Health Information Manager. Ms. Willms has an AAS in Health Information Technology. She will be serving as WPHCA’s HCCN project director, contributing to HIT, quality improvement, data analytics, and digital tools training and technical assistance activities.

Say hi to Barb as you see her in Performance Excellence Committee meetings, HCCN team meetings and/or Azara training and technical assistance sessions in the coming months.

WPHCA Names Scott Stewart as the Organization’s New CEO

Scott Stewart, MPA will join the Wisconsin Primary Health Care Association (WPHCA) in January 2025 as its Chief Executive Officer, serving as the new leader for the statewide organization serving Wisconsin’s Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs or CHCs), following an extensive national search. Reflecting on his new role, Scott stated, “I am honored to join WPHCA and build upon its legacy of advocating for health centers and the communities they serve. My work has centered on advancing health equity and ensuring that every individual, regardless of background, has the opportunity not just to survive, but to thrive. I look forward to collaborating with our dedicated members to eliminate barriers to care and create lasting, equitable solutions for all Wisconsinites.”

Pillar Health, a division of Kenosha Community Health Center (KCHC), is proud to join the City of Racine’s vision for expanded community healthcare as a key partner in the soon-to-be-built Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center. This $68 million project, located near Julian Thomas Elementary School, will house Racine’s first Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and marks Pillar Health’s second dedicated location.
