Beloit Public Library Community Room

605 Eclipse Blvd, Beloit, WI 53511

*$25 REGISTRATION FEE REQUIRED*

Goal of BOB:

The goal of this peer learning network is to provide a venue in which participants can share and learn best practices in the back-end billing, coding and accounts receivable processes, in order to both improve their individual work performance as well as improve their health center’s revenue cycle in key performance metrics.

Meeting Objectives:

  • Leverage the collective knowledge of the group to accelerate Health Center work related to improving the quality of Health Center billing, coding and accounts receivable.
  • Strengthen relationships/networks among Health Center staff.
  • Gain strategic ideas and tactical skills to use on the job.

Working Agenda:

8:30 – 9:00      Flex: Arrive, light snacks and networking

While we wait for people to arrive, please take a moment to jot down on a post-it note, what you would like to get out of today and questions for your colleagues. Use one post-it note per thought.

9:00 – 9:30      Introductions

Round table of introductions: Names, roles, etc.

  • Use the “Once” card to share a story.

Key Question Post-its:

  • What do you want to get out of today?
  •  What topics or questions do you want to cover?

9:30 – 11:30     Learning from our Peers: Community Health Systems

Becky Stack, Director of Revenue Cycle, and the CHS team will present and provide a tour of the facility

CHS will share some of their story as they have navigated leadership changes and new opportunities. This is a great opportunity to learn from another Health Center about how they have structured their back office services and prompt some discussion about how Health Centers are approaching this work.

11:30 – 12:00     Updates and Intel

We will take a few minutes to get folks up to speed on updates and intel from HRSA, Medicaid and Medicare and share other policy or system changes that you and your colleagues are aware for 2020.

12:00 – 12:30     Lunch

12:30 – 1:30       Show-and-Tell

Health centers should bring a tool, policy or other document to share with the group that they find particularly useful or effective. Each team will have the chance to share and discuss with the group. Please send this to Kay in advance of the meeting, so it can be displayed/copied. Ideas of what to share include things like:

  • Payment plans
  • Cheat sheets
  • Sliding fee policy (be sure your actual rates are not displayed)
  • Patient forms
  • Collections policy
  • Whatever your team wants!

1:30 – 2:00         Peer-to-Peer Breakout discussions

To provide an opportunity for people to dig deeper into their areas of expertise, we will divide into groups around different roles for further networking.

  • Dental Billing
  • Medical Billing
  • Coding
  • Others?

2:00 – 2:45          Mentor for a Moment

What other questions do you have of your colleagues?

What did we miss from our earlier discussions?

Round table sharing

2:45 – 3:00          Wrap up and evaluations

  • What worked well about today? What would you improve?
  • What would you like to cover on our next call? What would you like to see us discuss over the next year?
  • Please complete your evaluations!
