Goal of the Oral Health Peer Learning Network:

The goal of this peer learning network is to provide a venue in which participants can share and learn best practices in Oral Health integration, billing for Oral Health services, school-based Oral Health services, staff workflows, clinical, operational, and financial dental program best practices, dental provider recruitment and retention, and current barriers around access and capacity. Each meeting is planned based hot topics of interest to CHC staff including lots of discussions focused on sharing best practices and collective problem solving.


Overall Meeting Objectives:

  • Leverage the collective knowledge of the group to accelerate Health Center work related to improving the quality of Health Center
  • Strengthen relationships/networks among Health Center staff
  • Gain strategic ideas and tactical skills to use on the job

9:00-10:00     Oral Health Integration

Discuss best practices on how to develop and evaluate implementation strategies of the oral health core clinical competencies into primary care practice. Discuss challenges and promising practices around Oral Health Integration.

Share knowledge, best practices and meaningful resources related to FQHC dental program management in the areas of access to care, financial sustainability, quality outcomes and integration.

  • Discuss best practices to reduce added chaos in your dental program through effectively managing broken appointments and emergencies.
  • Provide guidance on how to schedule strategically to maximize access and program financial viability.
  • Phase 1 Treatment Plan Completion: An important quality metric to help maximize health outcomes for your patients

Jane Koppelman, Research Director for the PEW Dental Campaign

An opportunity to learn more about the growing number of states are allowing dentists to hire midlevel dental providers (known as dental therapists) to provide more patients with routine care.

No refunds are available for cancellations 6 days or fewer before the event begins.
