Overall Meeting Objectives:

  • Leverage the collective knowledge of the group to accelerate Health Center work related to improving the quality of Health Center fiscal and operations
  • Strengthen relationships/networks among Health Center staff
  • Gain strategic ideas and tactical skills to use on the job

 

9:00 – 9:45       Welcome & Share & Tell Introductions

We’d like to start this Peer Learning Network event with an opportunity that provides participants with a chance to learn about each other’s Health Centers, and gives participants an opportunity to “show & tell” about a work project that you are proud of.

 

Please come prepared to share a sample of your work-a new policy, a front-desk script, a dashboard for your Board, a report/reporting tool, or resource that you rely on in your day-to-day work.

 

HRSA, State & Federal Policy Updates

This is a standing agenda item that supports WPHCA and CHC intelligence sharing about state and federal policy environment that have potential implications for CHCs. Topics for sharing often include:

  • Recently released PINs/PALs and
  • HRSA announcements and/or intelligence regarding operational site visits
  • Other state and federal regulatory changes and/or initiatives

10:00-10:45      Speed Dating: Finance Veterans, Operations Insights & Newbies

WPHCA’s FOG has a cohort of longstanding members within its membership who have a wealth of financial knowledge and experience. Over the past year, several new Finance leaders have come onboard and will be joining our FOG meeting for the first time. This session will be designed to facilitate candid conversations between our Finance and Operations Veterans and our new members.

 

 

10:45-11:45      Core Metrics Work Group: Outstanding Questions, What are We Learning from a Performance Improvement Standpoint

Several FOG members have participated in a work group to make improvements to WPHCA’s financial core metrics. Staff and work group members will review the changes, answer any questions that members have and highlight insights on what the data is telling us.

12:30-1:30        Health Center Integration Efforts

In July several Health Center staff came together to discuss the current and desired states of their Health Center integration efforts. This discussion will provide an opportunity for Finance and Operations leaders to share what is working, what isn’t and how Health Centers are addressing the how health centers are funding and planning for the sustainability of this new model of care.

 

1:30 -2:45         Finance and Operations Hot Topics & Mentor for a Moment

Health Center Finance and Operations folks have been busy over the past year-between managing the day-to-day work, managing and monitoring the PPS transition and most recently scenario planning for the Health Center funding cliff.

This is an opportunity for participants to discuss the topics that are of most interest to them.

 

2:45-3:00          Wrap Up, Evaluation & Next Steps

Please inform WPHCA staff (lhess@wphca.org) of the substitution as soon as possible to coordinate meals and participant materials. Participants may cancel at no charge up to 7 days before the event begins. No refunds are available for cancellations 6 days or fewer before the event begins.
