Advancing Health Care Access For All

What is the Cancer Screening Initiative?

This project builds on the successful model of the Diabetes Quality Improvement Project (DQIP) of the Wisconsin Diabetes Prevention and Control Program through initiatives of the Wisconsin Primary Health Care Association (Association).  It will expand the DQIP model to improve tobacco cessation and cancer screening rates for patients utilizing Wisconsin’s Health Centers.  The Association with the Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Control (WI CCC) Program will assist WI Health Centers in planning and implementing cancer control initiatives, ensuring that the WI CCC Plan goals are reached for underserved and uninsured populations.  The ultimate goal of this project is to prevent and detect cancer at the earliest stage possible for Wisconsin’s disparate population.
